KEY PROJECT DEVELOPMENTS

• Stage 1 Completion – Septmeber 2019. Kawanga Wahre held.
• Stage 2 Design Completion and Building Consent lodgement – November 2019
• Foundation North’s Funding Round Application date was 5^thNovember 2019. The application requires an architecturally designed and documented scheme, submitted and lodged with Whangarei District Council, a Cost Estimate provided by a Building Contractor and relevant supporting documents such as letters of support from community etc. This work was all completed and submitted on time.
• Oranga Marae’s Funding Round Application date was 19^thNovember 2019. As above the entire design package was presented alongwith project cost estimate and BC Lodgement.
• Stage 2 Foundation North Funding Application was successful and approved on 10 March 2020. Amount for $499K
• Oranga Marae also approved our funding for Stage 2 on 02 April 2020. The amount was for approximately $1.8M. This funding was particularly significant as it was unprecedented for this amount to be allocated. We were informed that the reason for the high amount was in part due to the current success of the project and support for the outcomes however it was also due to increased amounts being made available in this particular funding due to the impact of Covid 19 likely causing low applications in the next coming round. We were also informed that with this being such a significant amount, the likelihood of receiving further funds again so soon might be low and so to plan for this in our redevelopment masterplan.
• Tender process was undertaken and after extensive negotiations Guyco were approved and appointed as our main contractor.
• Stage 2 works started on site in February 2021.
